The nurserymen’s method for propagating orchids involves using flower twigs and a plastic bottle filled with nutrient-rich soil. The soil can be enhanced with nutrients derived from potato or banana peels. Begin by carefully cutting the stem with a cutter to obtain small sprouts. Place the cut stem in a plastic bottle or glass jar with soil enriched with potato peel.
To disinfect the stem and eliminate bacteria, rub it with a cotton ball soaked in water. Seal both ends of the stem with candle wax and cover the container with transparent film, making small holes for ventilation using a toothpick. Position the container in a bright, humid location with a temperature of around 25°C. Water the soil daily and spray the plant with water. After just four months, you will witness the elegant sprouting of the orchid plant. This process can be repeated indefinitely, but ensure the seedling is not exposed to direct sunlight.
