Orange and coffee, the combination you don’t expect: you’re satisfied with the result
Not everyone is aware that the combination of orange and coffee can give rise to a delectable dessert. Here’s a simple way to go about it.
At times, whether it’s after a meal or a snack craving strikes, we often turn to consuming sweets. While it’s not entirely wrong to indulge in store-bought snacks during the week, preparing a homemade treat with available ingredients can be a healthier and more satisfying option.
Orange and coffee: the combination you never expected
The unexpected combination of oranges and coffee offers a delightful surprise in the form of a cake that is sure to delight your taste buds, making it an excellent dessert for gatherings with friends. Let’s dive into the recipe:
Ingredients:
3 nice-sized oranges
3 eggs
160 grams of sugar
200 ml of vegetable oil
200 ml of milk
Orange zest
360 grams of flour
1 sachet (approximately 10 grams) of baking powder
15 grams of coffee
1/2 spoonful of butter (for greasing)
1/2 spoonful of flour (for greasing)
300 ml of milk (for finishing)
Grated coconut (for finishing)
Instructions:
Peel and cut the fragrant oranges into small pieces, placing them in a bowl.
Use an immersion blender to blend the oranges.
In a separate bowl, combine three eggs with 160 grams of sugar and 200 ml of vegetable oil.
Add 200 ml of milk and grate a little orange zest into the mixture.
Incorporate the previously blended oranges into the creamy mixture and gently combine with a whisk.
Sift 360 grams of flour and a sachet of baking powder (approximately 10 grams) into the mixture and continue to mix.
Grease a baking tray with half a spoonful of butter and half a spoonful of flour.
Pour
part of the mixture into the greased pan, leaving about 1/4 of it in the bowl. 9. Spread the mixture evenly in the pan.
Add 15 grams of coffee to the remaining mixture in the bowl and mix.
Pour the new coffee-infused mixture onto the pan, forming small circles on top of the previous mixture.
Bake for at least 40 minutes at 170°C.
Once removed from the oven, sprinkle 300 ml of milk over the cake using a teaspoon.
Sprinkle grated coconut on top.
Allow the dessert to cool, then cut it into small squares.
